Every student starts from a different place, so lessons are built around you. We’ll look at your goals, listen to how you currently play, and identify what is helping—or holding back—your progress.
From there, we focus on the skills and habits that will make the biggest difference, whether you’re learning your first notes, preparing for an audition, or working toward advanced performance.
Purposeful Practice
Practice should have a purpose. Repetition is important, but you’ll learn what you’re practicing, why it matters, and what to listen for.
Each song, etude, or technique is designed to address a specific skill or habit. This leads your practice time to measurable progress and helps you become a more independent musician.
Growing Independence
The goal of lessons is not to make you dependent on a teacher—it’s to help you become a capable, confident musician who can solve problems on your own.
As you progress, you’ll learn how to evaluate your playing, recognize what needs improvement, and make adjustments without always needing someone else to tell you what to do.
